What happens if I have to cancel my appointment at the last minute without giving the required 24-hour notice?
Life can get hectic. Sometimes we forget our appointments or we lose track of time. Unavoidable delays happen, that's life! To accommodate these issues, depending on your unique situation, I might be flexible on this issue. However, I will require prepayment for all future sessions before I can commit to booking with you.
Prepaid appointments: If you have to cancel and give me the required 24-hour window, I'll refund your money. If not, I will use the payment to cover the time you scheduled off my book.
I refuse clients who cancel without giving the required 24 hour notice, habitually reschedule appointments, or who do not show up for their scheduled appointments. I have the sole discretion on the final outcome of these situations.
Can I bring my favorite lotion, oil, or massage tool for you to use on me during my massage?
I don’t use tools or other items brought into the wellness studio. I'm professionally trained in certain techniques and styles of massage therapy. I’m particular about being able to control the quality of work I produce. A lot of thought and planning has gone in to my services from the equipment I use to the sheets on the table. Lotions and oils can ruin my linens and other equipment that I'm unfamiliar with can reduce the quality standards that I have for my work.
Do you take my insurance?
No, however, I accept HSA/FSA cards.
How often should I be getting massage therapy?
If you are having a specific issue that needs to be resolved by using massage therapy, plan on coming in more often until improvement is made. With barefoot bar therapy, I suggest booking three sessions, scheduling one every other week to start. I usually evaluate the progress at the third session and make a new suggestion based on that evaluation. This could be referrals to other licensed professionals, different treatment options, or home care suggestions. Doing home care and making lifestyle changes will speed up your healing time and decrease the need for massage appointments. For general stress reduction and well-being, I suggest coming in at least once a month for this kind of maintenance. (This recommendation is not meant for people with stress related health issues.) Remember, the long term benefits of massage therapy are cumulative and are reaped only by consistent use.
I want to buy a gift certificate, do you sell them?
Over the years I've discovered that It's important for people to choose their massage therapist for themselves so I've stopped offering gift cards. The Heeling Hut is a unique holistic wellness studio with specialized techniques that appeal to deep tissue massage lovers. I work a limited schedule during the week with health-conscious clients looking to enhance their lives with natural therapies on a regular basis.
I'm always happy to help and I can offer suggestions for area spas who do sell their services as gifts. I am so thankful for all your referrals and testimonials! I've found that this is the best way to introduce your friends and family to my services.
My friend and I would like a couples massage, do you offer them?
No, I work independently and do not offer couples massage as an option.
Can we meet in person and discuss things before I decide to book something?
Unfortunately, I don’t have the ability to do outside meetings at this time. You are more than welcome to call and we will discuss questions over the phone. I may have to return your call but I will get back to you. I want you to feel as comfortable with me as possible, that is why I do a professional intake process before your first session gets underfoot. I look at over your intake forms and ask you about your bodywork goals. This is your time to discuss your goals for your massage therapy treatment.
