The Heeling Hut Barefoot Massage
Barefoot bar therapy is a special type of massage where the massage therapist uses their feet instead of their hands to give the client a deep, consistent amount of pressure. It's also called Ashiatsu. There are many types of barefoot massage from all over the world. Some examples are, Fijian massage from Fiji and Chavutti Thirumal from India.

What is barefoot bar therapy?

Clients who love Deep Tissue Massage should try Ashiatsu Barefoot Massage. I love offering Ashiatsu here in the DFW area because we have an active, health conscious community. I always get a lot of various athletes, clients who are actively trying to reduce their stress-levels, and who enjoy Deep Tissue Massage but are sometime left with the feeling that some muscle groups were missed in a traditional deep tissue massage.

Who should schedule an Ashiatsu Barefoot Massage?

This style is not for those who want a soft touch. Barefoot bar therapy is deep tissue massage by design. It can't be done lightly so anyone who is sensitive to pressure would need to steer clear of this style. Other contraindications for barefoot bar therapy are:
  • Recent surgery.
  • Uncontrolled high blood pressure.
  • Connective tissue diseases.
  • Varicose veins.
  • Any condition that causes neuropathy or loss of sensation.
  • Multiple sclerosis.
  • Easy bruising from blood thinners or medications.
  • Broken bones.
  • Pregnancy.
  • Any implants or augmentations newer than nine months.
  • Recent eye surgery.
  • Osteoporosis.
  • Spondylolithesis.
  • Pacemanker, stint, or shunt.

Definitely don't book a barefoot bar therapy session if...

  • If you have been on a plane longer than six hours within the last 24 hours. Wait until the next day to enjoy your session.
  • If you are under 18.
  • If you are sick. It's common to have an adverse reaction to deep tissue massage if receive while fighting an infection or cold.
  • If you don't like deep pressure during your massages.

Last but not least...

Make sure you fill out your medical history and intake form to the fullest at your first massage session and inform us of any changes in your health every time you come in. We want to make the session perfectly tailored to you so all the information we ask for is very important. It seems like a hassle but it will insure that your massage is created just for you.
